Product philosophy

Ayanam Learn is a Learning Operating System.

It teaches students how to learn, remember, and master knowledge through evidence-based learning practices โ€” like a personal learning coach grounded in cognitive science and educational research.

The name comes from Sanskrit: ayanam (เค…เคฏเคจเคฎเฅ) means "journey" or "path." Learning isn't a single event โ€” a lecture attended, an exam passed. It's a path walked repeatedly: from first exposure, to recall, to reconstruction, to review, to mastery. Every capture and every guided session is one more step on that path, not a finish line.

Why I built this

A note from the person who built this

I wasn't always a strong student. For a long time I was solidly below average, and I assumed that was just who I was. Then, almost by accident, I came across a book on how learning actually works โ€” and started applying a few of its ideas out of curiosity more than conviction.

The change wasn't overnight, but it was real. Understanding difficult material stopped feeling like something I either had a knack for or didn't, and started feeling like something I could reliably do, given the right approach. That shift did more for my confidence than any single grade ever did.

I'm a professor now, and I still use the same handful of principles โ€” active recall, spaced review, reconstructing ideas instead of re-reading them. Ayanam Learn is my attempt to make those principles nearly automatic for the next generation of students, instead of something you have to stumble onto on your own, the way I did.
